Lou DiMarco opened DiRosato's original store in the Lyell Avenue and Mt. Read Plaza. Since business was good, he decided to open a second location in Gates in October of 1990. The store had a very successful grand opening and continued to be busy. The business continued to expand and Lou's son, Mike, became his partner in April 2000. As business rapidly grew, Mike and Lou decided to open a full service dine-in restaurant across the street from the old Gates location in December 2001. Two years later in September 2003, Lou and Mike became partners with Lou's nephew, Jeff Trovato, and opened a second DiRosato's location in Greece. Lou and Mike were the first pizza shop in Rochester to offer the "5 Free Toppings" special. It was a huge success and other pizza shops followed their lead.
